Version 2026-10-28 · Takes effect on 13 November 2026

Key points

  • We only disclose data with a valid order or formal request.
  • There are no emergency disclosures without an order.
  • We notify the user, unless the law prohibits it or it would jeopardise the investigation.
  • Requests are received by email at [email protected].

1. What we require

AuthorityRequired instrument
BoliviaA prosecutorial request (requerimiento fiscal) or a reasoned court order. The Financial Investigations Unit (Unidad de Investigaciones Financieras, UIF), in accordance with its own rules.
Other countriesOnly by letters rogatory (exhorto) or through international mutual legal assistance mechanisms. There are no emergency exceptions.
  • We do not respond to informal requests, by telephone or via social media.
  • We disclose only the data requested in the order that we hold, and we keep a record of each disclosure.
  • If a request is too broad or does not meet the requirements, we may ask for it to be corrected or reject it.

2. How to send a request

Requests must be sent to [email protected], with the subject «Solicitud de autoridad» (Authority request). Please include the identity of the authority, the legal instrument, the exact account or data requested and an official means of contact. The owner's address is Cochabamba, Bolivia (see the Legal Notice); for now all notices are received at that email address.

3. Notice to the user

We notify the person concerned before disclosing their data, unless the law prohibits it, the notice would jeopardise the investigation or there is an emergency that prevents it.

4. Holding of funds

  • We hold funds upon an order from the competent authority.
  • If the police ask us to freeze funds without an order, we only apply a brief preventive freeze of 72 hours, where there is a risk of fraud, pending the order.

The freeze is applied with the funds-freezing tool, with notice to the user unless prohibited by law.

5. Data preservation

At the request of an authority, we may preserve an account's data for 90 days while the order is obtained. The period may be extended by an order.

6. Statistics

Each year we publish the number of requests received and handled in the transparency report.

This English version is provided for convenience. If there is any inconsistency, the Spanish version prevails, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.
